Dream Stripper - It Was Inevitable

It’s enough to make one sigh. Ensign Games have released screenshots of their Dream Stripper game which puts the player in control of a virtual naked babe as she dances:

“In Dream Stripper you totally control the dancer. You decide how she dances, what she wears, even the music she dances to! Have her writhe or spin just when and how you want or create an erotic and exotic dance program. You are in control. As she dances watch her expressions change, pause the dance, move the camera to watch from any angle, and change or remove her outfits. You can even insert your own MP3 files and have her dance to your favorite tunes.”

GamersHell have the story, and a (non-nude - you have to pay for flesh) demo for those voyeurs who prefer their women drawn from the acute fantasies of adolescent geekdom.

New rating system for Games

Taken from www.news.com.au

“COMPUTER games will now be subject to the same censorship restrictions as films, to make the ratings system easier for parents to understand.”

BUT

“Ruddock said that games which would qualify for an R18+ rating in Australia would continue to be prohibited from sale.”

Still, we are being chastised for the government’s “Lack of confidence in parental reponsibility”. At least they have recognised film and computer games are similar enough to unify the classification system.

Apparently it makes it easier to understand. Well, I am not that dumb, and I am still pretty confused.

WoW Expansion Mooted

Sure, it was inevitable, but up until now the normally stoic Blizzard PR team have astutely avoided alluding to an expansion for their record-breaking MMORPG. There are no details yet, but a post by one of the community managers on the official forums today has confirmed that…

“…we’re currently focused on adding new content to the game through regular content updates, but when the time comes, we’ll make an announcement on our community web site regarding our plans for the expansion.”

Vanguard SOH Not an XBox Launch Title

Despite rumours to the contrary, the MMORPG being developed by EverQuest designer Brad McQuaid Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is not going to launch with the XBox 2 in November. After seeing the XBox prerelease video and the awful MTV pimping feature, I’m glad Sigil haven’t intimately associated themselves with the XBox prerelease circus. I don’t think the game is ready to be be goosed, spun, and fabricated quite yet.

Xbox 360 vs PS3

I’ve compiled a side-by-side comparison of the PS3 and Xbox 360 for your next-gen hardware drooling pleasure. Some aspects (such as the CPU) are a bit like comparing apples and oranges, and these engineering marvels are nothing without good games to play on them, but the breakdown gives you an idea of what they have crammed into these curvy boxes.

Sony Unveils PS3

Hot on the heels of Microsoft’s MTV Xbox 360 launch, Sony have held a huge press event in LA to unveil the PlayStation 3, which is due for release in Spring 2006.. somewhat earlier than expected. Full specs have been released by Sony, and on paper the new Cell architecture gives the PlayStation 3 considerably more power than the Xbox 360. The PS3 also matches and exceeds the Xbox 360 on hardware features, with support for video resolutions all the way up to 1080p (progressive scan rather than the Xbox 360’s 1080 interlaced).

I’ve always found Sony’s industrial design to be a notch better than Microsoft’s, and the PS3 is no slouch on aesthetics…
