JoWood Dumps Perception

The publisher funding Sydney company Perception’s development of Stargate-SG1: The Alliance has cancelled the title, citing a lack of confidence in Perception’s ability to finish the project on time and at sufficient quality. JoWood is maintaining their rights to the game and all source code, and are pursuing the return of their original investment as well as costs from the Sydney company. The future of the game is uncertain, but Jowood is considering the possibility of moving it to next-gen consoles.

my god.

I suppose I can’t get angry at JoWood until we get the story from Perception.

>:( but this is my angry face

Holy Crap.. That is unprofessional and quite scathing words from a publisher..

I can not believe how vigorous this is as an attack..

I can not remember reading “Dumping Notice” so bad in my life. I hope perception bounce back from this.

In other news today.. JoWood has sacked Da Vinci, after trying to get Mona Lisa up to scratch, there was no way to go other then to deressurect the ince great artist…

Sure.. I’ve never seen the game in action, and the video was quite short.. But the look was always quite striking..

Anyhow.. still fuming.

Perception must have signed an intrestng contract if Jowood can even think about asking for thier money back.

I think JoWood are pulling a swifty here. There has got to be more to this story that is yet to come out.

Why would JoWood make it so public on a weekend if not trying to get people on their forums to their “side” before Perception and more importantly MGM can respond?

I hope Perception pulls through this and JoWood get kicked out on their butts.

Even if every single word JoWood released in its Press Statement is true, most of it is defamatory to Perception. It is libel. I think that Perception should have some definite interest in pursuing legal advice regarding this situation. Seriously JoWood, you immature little brats, get some tact.
Stargate SG-1 was on its way to be the best thing ever released with your name attached to it.

But what kind of contract was signed in the first place. “Following the termination JoWooD has asked for repayment of their investment in development and further expenses. According to our reading of the contract the rights to the title as well as the source code are transferred to JoWooD”

WHAT!?!?! You greedy f&$%s. It was my understanding that PERCEPTION gained the original rights to the game from MGM, not you! It was the Aussie success story. How can you ask for the money back, all IP and the rights for the title?

What do Perception get, a nice letter sent out for the whole world to see.

JoWood, I will NEVER buy a game produced by you. Seeings that I had never really heard of you before Perception, I don’t think that this is going to hurt me too much. I hope the real reason for you cancelling the contract was due to money problems, and I hope that firing Perception does not change that.

Check Penny Arcade tomorrow morning, hopefully they’ll be in support for Perception.
