Don’t Copy That Floppy

Did I hear you right?
Did I hear you sayin’
You were gonna make a copy
Of a game without payin’?
Come on guys…
I thought you knew better!
Don’t Copy That Floppy!

So raps MC Disc Protector in “Don’t Copy That Floppy”, a scary 1992 corporate video designed to discourage kids from from copying software. The video features interviews with some unlikely looking game developers from 1992, including someone working on the original Neverwinter Nights online game for AOL. Check out Teenage Mutant NinjaCulture for screenshots and a full download of the video. Don’t blame me if the cheesy early 90s graphics and backing tune drive you to self-harm. And remember kids, as they point out at the end of the article, most of the games featured are now freely available from the-underdogs.org.
