Developer Blogs
Things have been a little quiet because we’ve been working on some backend tweaks that should create some rather nifty new content. For a long time I’ve been wanting to offer a similar .plan updating linking service that Webdog has been doing for years and which Blues does now (bottom left on the link bar), but with a focus on Oz developers. The problem has been setting it up, and that fact that local developers generally don’t use .plans, which have become rather outdated anyway. There has, however, in the meantime been a blogging revolution and some developers are now using the free and easy open source blog software to journal their interests and development activities. I’ve been quietly adding the blogs to our growing list as I find them.
The most exciting part of it is that the software generally comes standard with RSS feed functionality. What RSS allows us to do is remotely check sites for updates, and link any that occur - all without one keystroke (RSS allows much more than that and is growing revolution all on it’s own). So rather than linking .plan updates, we will soon be linking blog updates. If you are a developer and have an online journal/blog that isn’t in our list, let us know and we will add you. The more the better.
