Half-Life 2 Delayed

Following weeks of furious online debate it has been confirmed next-generation FPS Half-Life 2 is going to miss the announced September 30 release date. Valve Software’s Doug Lombardi told Shack News they were hoping to finish the game in time for Christmas, but did not “have a specific date to share at this time”. Bummer.

Update: Don’t be fooled by stories that the reported delay was the result of a phony email and the game has actually gone gold. That story is actually the result of a phony email, which is quite ironic really if also rather confusing.

Frankly if the game releases with less bugs and without requiring a massive patch on release, I can wait.

If it worked like that SKeet, Duke Nukem Forever will be the most bug free game EVER if it ever comes out =)

History shows, HL2 will be just like any other game (albeit, a really pretty one).. it’ll come out after several delays, and still require lots of patches anyway.

You’ll still be in line waiting for the E3 vid when it comes out, Monty:)

I’d be happy to do that again, just to be at E3 :)

If it means I will have a Radeon 9800 by the time it is released, I am all for it!

I see your point, Unifex

The developers should at least relese information regarding system requirements.

I have heard news from America that the game will be released December 3rd, and sources in Perth Western Australia say the game is slatered for a March 1 release, along with Doom 3
