Project Gotham Racing 2 to feature a Sydney course
Well, isn’t this nice. Project Gotham Racing 2 on Xbox will contain a well researched Sydney course when the game hits the shelves this November 14.
Microsoft PR spiel follows…
Project Gotham Racing 2 will be the ultimate test of racing skill, style and daring and with the latest news just in, will also be the ultimate for gamers seeking some Sydney sided fun!
Gamers from around the world will be able to power-slide past the Opera House, corner on 2 wheels under Sydney Harbour Bridge, rocket through The Rocks at 200mph and ram into the National Bank on George St all without fear of double demerit points or having their licence taken off them!!
Players will be able to race around Sydney in all its fully researched, photo realistic recreation glory, with detail down to the finest level – take a peek at The Park Hyatt, marvel at the sandstone effects on Sydney’s Bridge foundations and look at the highly detailed pub fronts of the Lord Nelson and The Orient Hotel or even the infamous Jacksons on George!
Project Gotham Racing 2 captures the essence of Sydney while the Xbox’s superior graphics capture the visual effects without the gamer having to pack a suitcase to get there.
Not happy with just Sydney side tracks in Project Gotham Racing 2? Why not go into Sydney overdrive by coupling the Sydney race tracks with your favourite music from Sydney based radio stations such as Nova 96.9, 2 Day FM and Triple M who feature the dulcet tones of Sydney’s very own DJ’s such as Jimmy Z and Jason ‘Soleman’ Sole for the ultimate in Sydney entertainment!!
I wonder if the Bizarre Creations team spent a while hooning around Redfern in the name of “Research”? At any rate, it’s a pretty cool thing to have…now I wonder if you can rip around Ayres Rock in PGR3?

I remember the Sydney track in Test Drive 5.. Nothing new doing a Sydney track.. But.. Basically the roads were not really the real roads.. It was just land mark to land mark. So Hopefully this will make up for it.. Although a Brisbane Track would be far more fun. Busways, bus tunnels, etc. But alas no famous landmarks.
