Blizzard Founders Resign

Blizzard North founders Erich Schaefer, Max Schaefer, David Brevik and key Blizzard employee Bill Roper have all resigned. While noone has yet reported the reason for their departures, industry voices are suggesting recent attempts by Vivendi Universal to offload it’s games businesses, possibly to Microsoft, may be responsible. All four men were instrumental in the enormous success of Blizzard’s Diablo franchise, and one can only wonder what their loss will mean to future Blizzard North titles.

Amazing stuff.

I could be wrong here, but I got the impression from the news articles about this that those 4 guys (ie Blizzard North) are mainly just responsible for Diablo and Diablo II. So perhaps the other games/franchises you mentioned will be sheltered from any immediate fallout.

The four horsemen just demounted.

Sad sad day indeed.
