Yeah, I think the report probably has a point, and my only
response to it would be: If you let children be brought up on
a diet of video games, television, and video/dvd hire without
some kind of supervision then basically your'e a crap parent.

Children need parents not various types of media as Role models.
And I'm sure in time when more Females get into creative
positions, then the scope of games might start to veer
away from the "Guns n Ammo" pit in the
ground most games storylines seem to be stuck in.

But Im not sure reports like this are helping. They probably make
concerned parents not let their children take part.
and probably annoy games company Honchos so much they
want to make games with even more dastardly shit just for
kicks.
Thats my opinion...i think.

I also agree Grand Theft Auto mas cool for it's open endedness now it's all about murder and violence against people, which is wrong they should have grasped the open ended and faded the violence instead it's just got worse.

This is what I find worrying because working in a retail outlet I see kids as young as 5 trying to buy this game NO-WAY should a kid that young who can't defferenciate between gaming and reailty have a game like that. Plus with the graphics becomming more and more photorealistic I think developers need to take some responsibility.

Which leads to the question on R rated games in Australia Personally I think the idea is needed, not to allow such games as BMXXX through the door but to stop mums and dads from buying gta for their kids, when people see R they freak out, if I tell a mum this game would get an R rating if we have one they NEVER buy it. People just see ma15+ and assume that's fine...

The Aternoey general said he didn't wwant R ratings becuase kids can get these games easier but I think the same games will come in but many of them would get R rating rather than MA15+ which would put a barrier on violent games and kids in the retail side which parents will also see.

Then there is the Horrible double standard of sex and violence there is NO more graphic violence than GTA I mean I cannot think of anything you can do in that game it's the pinacle of violence, then ANY game with a little bit of tit or anything like that (not saying BMXXX is worth bringing over) they get slapped with MA15+ or banned, which is fucking rediculous BAN GTA if ure genna bad tit.

That's my view waddya guy thin

Arg. My well thought out post got cut down to ">Yawn". Oh well, to summarize:

- There are assholes all over the world. The existence of GTA doesn't change that fact.
