The Low Down On Level Editing

Our own Rob Watson has put pen to paper for this week’s Gamespy Developer Diary, detailing the process of set dressing or level editing in Krome’s just released (US) console platformer, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. It’s a bit dry and technical, but is a good read for those interested in the inner workings of game development.

Well written.. Extremely informative and entertaining.

Congrats on getting the title done . I hear it released in the US this week on GCN..

But I’m glad I left all of that behind, fornow I have days that fly by, in a section of a bank that never gets robbed.

shane.. have you left Krome for a bank clerk job or something?

Dry? How dare you Monty!

Read Shane’s comment. He obviously knows good work when he reads it:)

Hey, I’m writing from the point of view of the gamer. From a game development view, it’s scintillating stuff :)

I’m just impressed to see the word “Crowny” subtely slipped into an article about level editing :)

Bruce, I originally wanted to join the army.. But that went astray when I got Asthma.

I now work in EDS/Bank of QLD. In the city. Not the one that was robbed. The one on Lizzy street.

Althought having said that. I enjoyed reading George’s article a little more. Where’s Richo’s piece on level design for Barbie’s Sparkling Ice Show.: :)

Rob had to give crownies a mention, they were the inspiration for many of his puzzles :)
