Tom’s attempts to answer the eternal question for the PC gamer - which OS gives the best gaming performance ? - in this article. Their conclusion is that XP is just as fast, if not (very slightly) faster for the few games they test. Unfortunately they only test XP and 2000 compared to WinME - it would be interesting to see how something like the Australian developed 98Lite (a stripped down to the bare essentials version of Win98) would go in a similar matchup.
