Level Designer Position @ Torus Games

Looks like Torus Games are looking for a level designer as well!

* We want someone who’s had 2D experience, preferably with platform games and the like. 3D experience is an important one too, but 2D skills are essential. Again, look at the attached ad. Applications for Map Builder close next Tuesday 30th July, 2002.

Torus Games, an international games company based in Melbourne, Australia, is looking for a creative, dedicated individual to join its growing level design team. Are you interested in creating levels for use on Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Sony Playstation 2, Microsoft Xbox, PC and beyond? Yes? Then read on!
We require someone who has:
· A thorough understanding of 2D level creation principles;
· A desire to build intelligent, exciting levels for 2D platforms as well as next generation titles;
· Experience with 3D level creation tools;
· A high sense of creativity and practicality;
· Knowledge of and passion for computer games;
· Excellent team communication skills, both written and oral;
· The ability to work under tight deadlines;
· A solid concept of gameplay and what makes games fun!
The job involves:
· 2D world and level creation on the Game Boy Advance;
· 3D world and level creation on the Playstation 2, Xbox and PC;
· Placing creatures and objects;
· Constructing exciting gameplay scenarios based around full or partial designs;
· Working with game concepts originating from yourself and others;
· Liaising and interacting with art, programming, design and production.
