Gaming Escapism
The SMH has an overview of the Australian gaming industry, claiming that it is the silver lining in the gloom surrounding IT at the moment. It also compares gaming today to cinema during the Great Depression, which is particularly relevant at the moment, with the stockmarket doing it’s weird thing - PC and console video games lift us out of the doldrums of our lives just as movies did for a generation without such high-tech “home entertainment”.. Perhaps Lt. Col. Grossman (see “Murder Simulators” down the page) should have a think about that.
