EverQuest RTS?
Sony Online announced yesterday that work has begun on an EverQuest-themed RTS, in development at Rapid Eye Games. Never heard of them? Me neither, they were only started last year by one of the key people from the Might and Magic series (which, I’ll admit, I never played). No release date is given for the title yet.
In other news, the second part of yesterday’s announcement also mentioned that another Everquest-themed game, this time on the Playstation 2, is in development. No specifics were given about this one, but considering Snowblind were responsible for the hack’n’slash Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance on the PS2, the safe money is on something down those lines.

The RTS bit puzzles me. Hopefully they will take Majesty’s lead on this. In that game all your heroes would level up and you as the king had to create the quest for them.. You had to hire them.. and then place bounties on the heads of enemies. You could set up places for your heroes to train. BAsed on the character type the hero’s would be more loyal. so there was this chance that an enemy would put a bounty on one of your heroes, who would then be attacked by a money hungry rogue of your own team. Cool Huh?
