Codename: Smokin’ Barrels
Fremantle based developer, Bungarra Software, are the latest Australian developer to serve up a surfing game. This game is taking the genre of surfing into uncharted territory. The game will combine elements of Surfing, with elements of snowboarding and wakeboarding to create an SSX like experience of surfing. The gamer will be able to control a surfer who can catch barrels, perform amazing aerials off waterfalls and waves, grind logs and fallen tree branches, whilst surfing along specially designed water courses. The video’s currently available on Bungarra’s Official site are a nice taste of what is to come. There are six videos in all and they show a single surfer tackling one of the courses. The product is due be finished in the first quarter of 2003 and is being made for the Playstation 2 with the possibility of it being ported to PC.
