Console Sales

Australian IT have a breakdown of console sales after the first month of all 3 being on sale in Australia. The PS2 is roaring along with 5000 units a week, followed by the Xbox on 3000 and the Gamecube around 2000. The PS2 and Xbox figures have been skewed by bundling and price cuts to a certain extent. Nintendo have sold approx 20,000 GameCubes since launch, under expecations apparently - Mario, Zelda & co. can’t come soon enough for the big N.

go PS2!!!

Well I’ve got a PS2 for the variety, GC for the quality and a PC for the games that should remain on a PC.

I finally buckled, and bought into the console war being a PC gamer most of my life. Other then the old Atari’s and C64s I’ve not touched them.. But I’m proud to say I’m one of the 2000 that bought a GC last week. Have already had to buy two memory cards (59blocks is too much and the size of some games data is massive), 5 games, an extra Controller.. And well.. But yes, pity about having to wait for Mario and CELda. Has anyone played or can recommend Super Smash Bros. Does it play well, or is it an advert for Nintendo games still too come?
