Counter-Strike Condition Zero
News on the single player version of the most popular of all online FPS’s Counter Strike Condition Zero has been strangely missing from most E3 raves, possibly because the game will push Valve’s new STEAM content delivery system. Valve says the system, which replaces the need for a CD by delivering the complete game digitally from company servers to client computers, has been engineered to solve cheating problems. Anyone with half a brain realizes what it does is turn free online gaming into a pay-to-play business, and it will get no love from me (though CS 1.6 will apparently offer all the anti-cheating benefits of STEAM for free). Objections aside, Gamehelper managed to track down Gearbox president Randy Pitchford for a chat about the title.
