EA Games have announced a new all-Australian action/adventure 3D platform title for the PS2 and GameCube. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, currently being developed by Brisbane company Krome Studios, is due for release this Summer (Fall in the US).

I wonder if he’ll have an Australian accent?
Seeing it’s done by Krome, a good Aussie company, I imagine so. Let’s just hope it’s Aussie Australian, not American Australian. @:-)

I can confirm that Ty indeed does have a genuine Australian accent, as do the majority of the other characters. There are some pretty cool people involved in the voice talent, but I’m not allowed to say too much apparently.
Hmmm. Wonder if Steve Irwin cut from his busy schedule and is doing some voice work.

Regarding the voice acting.
Surely Steve Irwin wouldn’t be out of the question, imagine the amount of interest this would generate within the US?
On a different note, take a look at the viewing distance in the screenshot. If this is an in-game image then I think this can only be a good thing for Australian developers as it looks to be a top-rate game.

I’m a computer geek, I don’t follow the nature path very well. It really really annoys me when people say “release in “, because the seasons are different all round the world.. Why can’t PR people just say “3rd quarter this year” etc.. it’s not like everyone in the world has a different calender :) (Yes, I know that some countries do have a different calender heh.)
