GCN $329, Xbox $399….PS2 still $499

In a Gamespot interview with Sony Australia’s Michael Ephraim he stated that Sony would not be cutting its price for the PS2 from the suggested retail price of $499. He then went on to brag about how good the PS2 was with it’s millions of games etc.

Personally I’m not even the slightest bit surprised. I’ve been saying Sony wouldn’t drop it’s price…and I was right *bragging end*

X-box’s recent price drop is a dodgy atempt to break into an already flooded compeditive market but the same was said about the first playstation(now the leading company) 5 years ago

gamecube has an already established fan base and the price is just an added bonus

PS2 comes with no harddrive ,the ability to play DVDs without having to buy a remote and the games are getting cheaper.

the fact that sony hasnt dropped the price sucks

but…….
with the 40g harddrive comin’ at a price of $499

$1,000 is a good price for really fast computer
capable of making games that you can trade on the internet
