Street Advertising Dead ?
According to this Australian IT article, Microsoft’s council-offending Xbox street spraying program has killed off that kind of advertising - for the time being at least. The article claims the campaign didn’t really work, as the target “cool, new, young” audience was put off by the ™ slapped on each logo.
The frightening thing is what the promoters out there are predicting as the next wave of advertising - face-to-face marketing. Teams are put together to go out and market a product one on one, without letting on they are working for the man: “The right people are paid to go out, have fun and wear a brand or share confectionery.”.
Share confectionery ?? Look out for strangers lobbing up to your next LAN party with a bunch of green XLollies…
