"read reviews with a sceptics eye."
Yes goood advice, and I emplore you all to do the same with this review. This is one of the most beautiful games to date. I feel Mr Carefulconan was doing a bit of comparing apples and oranges here, it's not like C&C at all, other than the RTS part.

"Asian equivalent of Days of Our Lives " - Read Story line. You remember those right?

True it probally does have it's faults, but I emplore everyone to at least play the demo, and decied for yourselves.

It seems like you don't like most games, you should buy your games from EB, because then you can take them back, when you don't like it.

Everyone else, if you want a bit of a different lean on your RTS's, go for Battle Realms, it really is worth the 91% the said mag gave it.

Some headless turkeys may see my review as being a bit
scathing towards battle realms, and you know what I AM!
I like most gamers lust for storylines in games that invoke a
sense of Not just a Purpose but actually make you want to
play the game, to see what happens next. If you could
call battle realms asian themed soap an attempt at such
a storyline you are damn easy to please.

This game definitley does NOT evoke a strong sense
of a world or an emotive cause(what am i fighting for?)
And if building a shitload of troops upgrading them and
destroying every other base to proceed to the next map
does not remind you of CnC you are beyond help.
surely a high scoring RTS can have more mean than
map scouring ?.

My initial tirade was sparked by the fact A score of 91
was given by an aussie mag, this tells me that this game
is supposed to be a gem! something special, something
well worth my hard earned spondoola's, It might be 70
out of 100 at best.

I think some magazines get confused about their purpose,
are they reviewers? or advertisers?
