Generations Arena
Quake3 mod Generations Arena which “recreates all the classic First-Person-Shooter gameplay styles, physics, and weaponry” goes public Beta in one week. The developers are celebrating with an IRC shindig at irc.enterthegame.com, room #generations on Friday December 21 at Noon (2pm Thursday CST). The mod attempts to pit every generation of id software FPS against the other. Players can choose the Marine from Doom or the soldiers from Quake, Quake 2, or Quake 3, and battle it out online, style against style. GenArena Version 0.99a will include recreations of all five Generations of FPS (Doom to Quake 3 Arena), with over 40 weapons, new powerups and powerup effects, techs, and grapples. All standard Quake3 multiplayer modes will be available.
