Street Fighter on your mobile phone?

Late last week THQ Wireless and Capcom Eurosoft Ltd announced an agreement granting THQ the rights to publish and distribute games based on the Street Fighter brand for WAP and SMS enabled mobile phone platforms across Europe.

Warthog, based in Cheadle, UK, has been contracted to create both WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) and SMS (Short Message Service) versions of the Street Fighter game, which will be published by THQ Wireless beginning early 2002. The games will feature all the regular Street Fighter characters with recognisable graphics in the WAP version. Players will be able to play against other wireless combatants or against the phone.
