Console (Mis)History
Tom’s Hardware have posted a very odd and surprisingly inaccurate Console History, written by 3 ’securities analysts’ (aka $ guys). You can tell it’s written by finance people, not gamers, with quotes like the following:
Text adventure and arcade have merged to become the FPS ? Munch’s Oddworld a simulation ??? Also featuring the hitherto unknown “64-bit Playstation”, this is one article best avoided. We discern there to be three rival gaming traditions: two of them, text adventure and arcade, merging to become the first person shooters of Max Payne; and the latter tradition of simulation leading to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, Gran Turismo and even Munch’s Oddworld.

Very entertaining. I wonder how much those guys were paid to speak pure bull**** ($1000/hour?).
