Luclin Female Model
Verant have released pics of the new human female model from upcoming EQ expansion Shadows of Luclin. I was hoping the new models would reflect the game’s maturing, but was disappointed. The woman figure looks like a caricature of a silicon heavy lap dancer and is actually worse than the current models which have female warriors running around in g-string chainmail.
What is hard to understand is how a company which goes out of its way to enforce a family style environment could come up with such explicit, sexist (I dislike that word but in this case it truly applies - the male models are in no way equivalent) images which are obviously designed only to titilate. EQ is roleplaying and in other aspects is reasonably balanced. Why the display of typecast, unnatural sexuality which runs contrary to the spirit of the game?

A large number of women play EQ, and I know from conversations ingame most of them find the existing models pretty silly. I wonder how many will be moved from bemusement to offense by Verant’s latest effort. If you check out the pictures and find them as farcical as I do, let Verant know.

I agree. Moreover the new models are ugly and unartistic. The old models did more with fewer polygons. Thats art. The new graphics look like amateur artist sketches and caricatures.
