Dan reviews VIA’s new C3 CPU
“Brutal, brain-blasting, soul-tearing power.”
“Monstrous floating point muscle.”
“Awesome Athlon-pummeling 3D game cojones.”
All phrases that don’t spring to mind when you’re reviewing Via’s new “Ezra” core C3 processor.
Dan has done it again, and I don’t care what he’s reviewing, I just like the way he does it.
But, while the C3 is not what a lot of people are looking for, it does do something that no other desktop processor can.
It lets you easily build a practically silent PC.
This chip doesn’t need a fan on its heat sink, it doesn’t need a lot of case ventilation, and its performance is not so stinky as to make it useless for the sorts of things that people are likely to want an unobtrusive little silent PC to do.
