What are you playing lately?
I’m not sure if anyone really wants to know but I’m gonna tell you what I’ve been playing lately.
Lunch time at work right now sees me playing a friend’s copy of Shogun Total War. It’s a pretty cool strategy game with Risk style gameplay that lets you command battles in full 3D should you be so inclined. I must say that a full battle with more than 1000 units on each side is a very impressive sight. Especially when the enemy commander is running from the battle like a dog with its tail between its legs. Very satisfying.
Devil May Cry
After work before going home is a quick few rounds of Return to Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer test. For those who play and enjoy the HalfLife mod DOD this game will bring a smile to your face. Better graphics, cooler weapons and lots of fun.
Once home and after watching the latest on the upcoming conflict that will soon be inflicted on all of us, I like to wind down with some good old fashioned zomie killing action. I’ve long been a fan of Resident Evil and I recently purchased Resident Evil Code: Veronica X for PS2. I love it. Sure the control system isn’t perfect and maybe it doesn’t look quite as good as it did on the Dreamcast, but there is still no other game that can make me jump with fright like a Resident Evil game can.
And lastly, Saturday evening saw me checking out the Devil May Cry demo that comes with Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. I don’t think I can express how excited I am about this game. I know it’s way to early to tell but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that this could well be as close to the perfect game as we are likely to see. It rocks!
