AGDC 2k1 Update
Heard from the fine, fine people organising this year’s Australian Game Developer’s Conference today! This is the latest on the show:
The Conference has again attracted interest from all over the world with keynote speakers including Louis Castle, Westwood Studios and Dr Ray Muzyka, Bioware Corporation. We await confirmation from others. Adam Lancman (Infogrames), John De Margheriti (Micro Forte), Greg Siegele (RatBag) and other local CEOs will be on hand to speak and give advice to anyone wanting to succeed in our industry.
Macromedia, Discreet, Microsoft DirectX, Alias Wavefront, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Nvidia, ATI and others have indicated they will be sending speakers. We have submissions for other talks and round tables. It’s going to be great!
We are planning a Lanfest with 500-600 gamers participating, taking the entire floor above the Exhibition room! These people are serious gamers, starting lunch Saturday and playing serious LAN games through the night to lunchtime Sunday.
