Telstra BPA Hacked

Service Status page is reporting a “security incident” for ADSL Account Management…
Due to a security incident Telstra recommends BigPond Broadband ADSL customers run a virus checking program on their PC and delete any virus that may be detected. Users should then change their BigPond Broadband ADSL passwords.
This information may also have been gleaned from trojans that could have infected a large number of BPA-connected PC’s. Is Telstra ultimately going to lay the blame with home users for this breach?
Co-inciding as it does with threats of legal action against Telstra for the dismal reliability of their ADSL service, I don’t think Telstra is making broadband easier for anyone, let alone themselves.
