Sony Australia Distributes Sega

Last week Sony Europe announced that it and Sega had signed a deal whereby Sony would manufacture, market and distribute seven Sega titles in PAL territories. I contacted Sony Australia to see if we were going to reap the benefits as well as Sega’s distributor here in Australia (OziSoft) have made a horrific mess of it in the past. The short answer is yes, Sony Australia are going to distribute Sega product for the Playstation2 here in Australia. The seven titles are as follows:

Space Channel 5 (two titles)
K-Project (working title)
Virtua Fighter 4 (title I will own)
F-355 Challenge (working title)
Head Hunter
Ecco the Dolphin

It should be noted that OziSoft will still handle Sega distribution for all other platforms. Hopefully having a company that runs as smoothly as Sony will give them an indication of how Sega fans would like their distribution to be handled.

…no I haven’t forgiven them for the Dreamcast launch…
