D2X In Australia, But Not For Sale
Blizzard president Mike Morhaime has confirmed in a recent forum post that copies of the new Diablo 2: Expansion Set arrived on Australian shores this week, but haven’t been delivered to stores. It seems something has gone amiss this side of the Pacific, though the good news is the game should start hitting stores next week, a week earlier than expected:
Many people have posted that Lord of Destruction has not yet been released in Australia. This news came as a big suprised to us, so we checked into it. We have confirmed that our shipments have arrived in Australia as planned, but that there were some delays in actually distributing the boxes to stores. All indications are that local retailers should start receiving boxes sometime next week.
We apologize again and assure you that we will work to make sure that this sort of delay is avoided in the future (as soon as we understand what actually went wrong.) When we say “worldwide release”, we do mean worldwide, and that includes Australia.
