It’s Moderately Unfortunate To Be Us
BK community to the rescue once again, a mix of celebrities and people of the land. It has lightened my mood, and perhaps there is a way out of this miserable distribution situation, so let’s move through the various sites that can get Funcom goodness to us Down Under (do think we can charge somebody for saying “Funcom” so many times in one weekend?)
Andy from Gone Gold got in on the action, suggesting UK-site Software First as a place that has never done him wrong. They don’t have a listing yet for Anarchy Online though, and so he went across the Atlantic to Compu Expert who, while having the cheapest price for AO out there (US$39.90), don’t ship to Australia.
If you do use Compu Expert for those shopping stateside, Gone Gold have an ad-link button up whereby they receive a percentage from the sale so please keep that in mind.
Shadow stopped by, not to be out-done with AO delivered to your front door for US$59.89 (AU$113.76).
A few other sites were mentioned, but I think the cheapest is likely found in a New Zealand site called Game Zone. They have AO on sale for NZ$99.95, and a NZ$9.95 shipping charge to Australia. I fired off an e-mail to them asking how close to the US/Scandinavian launches would we be receiving our copies of the game, and I’ll let you know as soon as I get a reply.
For those, like me, who’ll likely grab The Longest Journey in tandem with AO, Game Zone can deliver them both to you for AU$175. Who was that masked man babbling about AU$235 for them both? Madness!
