EA Big Austraila is going surfing?
A rumour I gathered today from a student of a multimedia course on the Gold Coast was that EA in Australia is going to be working on an SSX styled surfing game. The game will of course be less about the actual sport of surfing and more about the world of tricking through areas that waves are not usually found. The rumour also states that the waves will not be breaking on the shores of some famous beach. However they will be crashing through canyons and other more extreme areas. Think tidal wave. Think massive. Think Unreal. The game is still in pre-production and not too many details have been given out at this stage.
Although, Mark Theyer, the guy behind “California Water Sports” was on hand at the lecture. The lecturer from EA was quick to point out and compliment Theyer on his wave generation engine. So one can only speculate that Theyer will be working on the game at this stage. However Theyer recently stated at an earlier lecture that he was currently at work on a Ps2 game.
