UT Hack Controversy

Zen Tao Interactive’s Alex Redman has followed up on yesterday’s threat to track down the author of the notorious Unreal Tournament auto-aim program “Funbot”. Funbot accurately aims and fires for a player turning the character running the program into a deadly shot. As it turns out, Funbot’s author created his program for research purposes and never intended for it to be released publically. It was apparently released by someone the author somewhat naively allowed access to it.

The controversy surrounding responsibility for the program’s release has been partially cleared up through Alex’s direct discussion with the author, and a forum post on Instagib displaying evidence of the author’s innocence.
