Sons of Wolfenstein pt. 3

3D Action Planet have the third installment of their Sons of Wolfenstein series up which looks at FPS design and talks to some of the genre’s key people. In this action-lacked episode, the thoughts of Tim Willits of id Software, Dave Georgeson of Dynamix, and Rich Carlson of Rogue Entertainment (formerly of Looking Glass) are laid bare for all to see. Plenty to disagree with here folks, but an interesting read none-the-less!

3DActionPlanet: Can you take FPS game design only so far?

Georgeson: I don’t see why there would be any limit at all. As net games (like “Tribes 2″) can handle more and more players, the boundaries of what can be achieved with those players gets looser and looser. We already have plans on the table to do some really unique kinds of games in the future, and I honestly think we are only scratching the surface for the potential on this kind of gaming.
