Trouble in paradise
I’m sure many of you may have noticed by now that some of your favourite sites are not available at the moment.
Well, it seems that the recent stock market troubles, which have had a major impact on internet stocks (or vise-versa), has started to take it’s toll. Word going around at the moment is that the Gamefan Network has gone under. This is bad news for all us Voodoo Extreme fans as they were a Gamefan affilliate. I’m sure there are many others as well so stay tuned and hopefully we’ll have some more news on the Gamefan demise and the hopeful resurrection of VE.
In similar news there is also talk that the owners of IGN, Snowball.com have major losses and have had to lay off up to 50 employees. Additionally, their stock which floated at around $20 US has plummeted to $1 a share. I’m hoping that this is merely the hard times experienced by all new businesses but you never know.
