Video games are huge down under
The Australian Video Software Distributors Association has released sales figures for financial period just ended and they reveal some very interesting statistics:
Sell thru VHS: $161,916,417 (units 11,156,748)
Sell thru DVD: $ 33,504,538 (units 1,456,689)
Rental Video: $ 191,414,777 (units 3,511,430)
Games Software: $230,596,591
Games Hardware: $67,475,366
From this information you can see that game sales in Australia outsold Video and DVD retail sales combined.
