XBox Media Communications CPU
Makers of TNT and GeForce video cards NVIDIA today announced it is supplying the Media Communications Processor (MCP) for Microsoft’s XBox console. The MCP will take care of the processing requirements of the XBox’s broadband connectivity, communications, and 3D sound. The new chip, which will pack the raw processing power of a Pentium 3, is the second NVIDIA processor to be contracted for the XBox. NVIDIA is also supplying the console’s video processor.
