Justin Frankel Iconified??

This is too horrible not to be true. Winamp programmer Justin Frankel who daily agitates readers of .plan updates with inane adolescent dribbing about his love life (.plan files are meant to be for technical discussion) apparently is a programming icon. I thought he was a pimply geek with a supremely over-inflated sense of his own importance and an unsupervised .plan file, but it turns out the 21 year old is hot property. He not only created online music player Winamp and sold it and his company Nullsoft to AOL for $86 Million, but has now hacked AOL’s Instant Messenger making him a public hero. Frankel’s free hack which has been taken down from the Nullsoft site (though is still be distributed by those who downloaded it in time) allows users to remove IM’s annoying ads and replace them with Winamp style music responsive graphics.

So now he’s more revered than ever. Which is VERY bad news for anyone who scans .plan files every day and is forced to catch glimpses of his drivelings (I quote: “I know there are people who think that because we work at Nullsoft we are gods, but I am just the same as you…”). What is worse, it seems other Nullsoft employees have taken his lead and are filling their .plans with the same sort of painful rantings. I’m not sure I’m going to make it…
