BG2 Gold Soon
Part-time BigKidder Joel sends word that eagerly awaited RPG sequel Baldur’s Gate 2 is due to go gold very soon, and should make a September 21 shelf date in Australia. BG2 co-lead designer Kevin Martens has posted to an Interplay forum with the news that three of the four game CDs have been completed and sent off:
We’re just finishing up the last of the bugs. Primarily this is in multiplayer but there is always tweaking to be done in single player. The game will ship on 4 cds. CDs #2,3 and 4 have gone for printing. The remainder of our work can be done using the resources on CD1. I have no exact dates other than when it is done. However, this looks to be soon.
The official BG2 website has also announced an official Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn chat tonight September 13 at 6:00 pm PST in room #baldursgate on the irc.gamesnet.net server, port 6667. More details about the game’s release are expected to be announced.
UPDATE: According to local Electronic Boutique stores, the Oz release date has been pushed back to September 28.
