PS2 Headaches
Running with a new look and format this month, my favourite gaming publication, Edge magazine, continues to do what it does best - which is to say it provides exceptionally well written articles, it’s intelligent and always a little bit different.
Kicking it off is an interesting piece outlining the struggles that developers are having coding the PS2, bringing to light a startling detail that Sony have actually sold more consoles than games in Japan. It will be interesting to see how this affects the system’s fortunes upon its western release.
In the same article, it talks about Japanese developers, concerned by Sony’s multimedia diversification and sluggish software sales, turning their attention towards Nintendo’s Dolph…I mean GameCube. For more on that story click here
There is also news in the issue that the magazine is soon to launch an online branch of it’s distinctive journalistic style. Be sure to keep an eye out as “The Future of Electronic Entertainment” (quote, unquote) goes online.
