Sega Dreamcast for only $199
It sounds like a second hand price. Yet a Harvey Norman store in Mount Gravatt (a computer store suburb in Brisbane) sold 5 Dreamcast’s each day for only 199 bucks to the first lucky customers on the weekend. The offer is no longer valid sadly as this was a saving of well over 200 bucks.
However rest assured that the price of the console is due for a drop. The price drop should not be too surprising for those of you watching the current drops in the USA. As of the 31st of August in the USA the Dreamcast rrp was dropped to $149. The price Harvey Norman quoted on the weekend was even cheaper than the rrp in Canada of 229 bucks.
Why tell you now it’s all over? To prompt other stores around Australia to drop the price, and also to make sure that you are aware the console should be cheaper. Will any store take on this BigKid challenge?
