Collectors Edition D2 DVD Won’t Play In Oz
Part time BigKidder Joel sends word that the bonus DVD in the expensive (and rare) collectors edition of Diablo 2 won’t play on certain DVD players. If you have a region locked (ie. RPC2) DVD player, you will not be able to view the DVD which is in RPC1 format. Australian RPC2 players can only view region 4 DVD’s, not those any from other regions such as the D2 disc (which is presumably from the US). So if you bought your player in Oz, it is likely it will not read the D2 DVD. Bad news for those who have shelled out the bucks for the game on the strength of the disc.

Hmmm, nasty oversight there. However, all is not lost. If you are having problems playing the D2 Collectors Edtion DVD movie on your DVD player here in OZ, you may need to unlock the region lock.
If you go to DVD Box they have a new version of DVD Genie for download that will do just that. Additionally, they have a utlillity that will check your DVD player to see if it is region locked.
