Pentium 4 Unveiled
Anantech has the inside story on Intel’s soon to be announced Pentium 4 chip, which is the first Intel chip to ditch the P6 architecture in favour of the new Netburst design. The chip will feature Hyper Pipelined Technology, a Rapid Execution Engine, an Execution Trace Cache, and a quad-pumped 100MHz bus yielding 400MHz of data transfer. Okay, I don’t know the full implications of that either, but I do understand the P4 will debut at 1.4GHz. You’ve got to love new technology.
