Game Patches Defended
Tomasz Jachimczak of Zen Tao Interactive has defended the controversial (and now standard) practice of patching games after their release in a thoughtful and direct .plan update.
When a company releases a game, and at a later date, either writes some code or finds some bugs and fixes them, I think that they are doing the gaming community a MASSIVE favor by releasing these patches. It only shows that they are willing to support their products after they have their kickback from the initial sales.
There is a school of thought with a growing body of supporters that says games should not need patching, and should work perfectly out of the box.
