Violent Games Restricted
Coin-operated video games which display graphic violence are off-limits to children in Indianapolis following a new law passed on Monday. The new law requires games featuring strong violence or sexual content to be kept at least 10 feet from other games and separated by a curtain or wall. People under 18 years of age cannot play them unless accompanied by a guardian. The law takes effect September 1, and continues a growing reaction to violence in computer gaming. British Columbia recently re-classified violent FPS Soldier of Fortune with an X rating, requiring those selling it to hold licences for handling adult products.
